Voice Threads

I looked at the following voice threads:
Carol
Alyson
Lauren

From doing this science challenge, I learned that technology is actually fun not scary. There are so many different tools that teachers can use to enhance their lesson through technology. Any age child can benefit from a technology based science lesson. Younger children can take pictures as they do a lesson and make a voice thread together, and older students can easily make a voice thread of their own. Technology helps to make science fun and interactive.

Virtual Tours

I looked at the following tours:
Beth Peach
Ashlee Devereaux
Alyson Thacker

I think that doing a virtual tour is a great way for children to actual "be" in, and see the places that they are learning about. Virtual tours give students an opportunity to visit places they may never see otherwise. The downside is that making virtual tours is pretty challenging. For younger children, there would need to be a great deal of teacher involvement in order for children to make their own.

Virtual Tour Planning

My Virtual Tour covers the third grade social studies Standard 1 Objective 2A. This virtual tour will take students around the world to view and learn about different ecosystems. The students have most likely never been to areas that have each of the different ecosystems, but with this virtual tour, they will have a chance to view all of the ecosystems in one setting.

This is a link to my virtual tour on the ecosystems of the world.
